Staking

Locking a token to help secure a network or protocol, often earning rewards.

Staking commits tokens to support a proof-of-stake network or a protocol. In return, stakers can receive rewards, expressed as an annual percentage rate (APR) or yield (APY).

Rewards, lock-up periods, and risks vary widely by network. Staked funds may be locked or subject to penalties under certain conditions.
