How to avoid airdrop scams

Airdrops attract scammers because they mix free money with wallet approvals. Most losses come from a handful of repeated tricks. Learn them once and you avoid nearly all of them.

Safety checklist

  1. Find the project's official site through its verified social account, not a search ad.
  2. Use a fresh, dedicated wallet with little or no funds.
  3. Read what each signature approves before you sign. Reject blind approvals.
  4. Revoke token approvals you no longer need after claiming.
  5. When in doubt, wait. A real airdrop does not vanish in an hour.
The one rule. No legitimate airdrop ever needs your seed phrase or a payment. If either is requested, it is a scam, full stop.
